Okay so the new movie will be coming out on July 3rd, 2012, And Sony Pictures have just announced that they will be showing and working with Wal-Mart to show visitors and store guests some brand new footage that was never seen before or which never made it into the movie. Here is their full press release on what they plan to do sometime later for guests and visitors who are attending their store or just visiting to catch up and see the brand new never before seen footage.
Sony
Pictures Home Entertainment plans to debut a new scene from its upcoming
action adventure “The Amazing Spider-Man” not on the Internet, but
rather on television screens in physical Wal-Mart stores across the
country.
At four designated
times of the day — 12:01 a.m., 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. — on June 15
and 16, all of the electronics department television sets in Wal-Mart’s
3,600 U.S. stores will play a previously unreleased scene from the
theatrical film. To encourage in-store viewing, Sony does not plan to
release the footage online.
Sony and Wal-Mart’s
promotional efforts are designed to generate excitement for both “The
Amazing Spider-Man,” director Marc Webb’s take on the famed Marvel
Comics superhero, as well as the over a thousand “Spider-Man” licensed
products being sold at Wal-Mart. Mr. Webb’s film comes only five year
after the final installment of director Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” reboot
and features “The Social Network” star Andrew Garfield as the titular
web-slinger.
In addition to the
in-store footage, Wal-Mart, Sony and Marvel Entertainment said Thursday
the three companies were partnering on a number of other interactive
events, such as the introduction of a new “Web-Slinger” app for mobile
devices.
“We know our customers
are huge fans of ‘Spider-Man’ and we wanted to give them access to the
film in a new way,” said Brent Duwe, Wal-Mart’s director of
entertainment property merchandise. “We really wanted to engage the
fans.”
The free Web-Slinger
app is key to many of the promotional events being launched around the
country. For instance, it works in concert with Wal-Mart, Sony and
Marvel’s on-going truck tour to 1,000 physical stores around the
country. When users aim their app, which includes a camera mode, at the
“Spider-Man” branded trucks, they’ll be able to see an “augmented”
version of a fight scene on their mobile screens.
“It’s a new approach,” says Mr. Duwe. “In general, we typically don’t do campaigns of this size and caliber.”
Wal-Mart stores will be showing some brand new footage inside the stores that was never seen before or never made it into the movie. They will not be showing it online at all. The plan is Wal-Mart indeed plans to show some brand new scenes that never were in the movie and they said in an interview that they don't plan to release the footage online. They have said this when asked in the interview about showing it online.
"We don't plan to show off some of the brand new footage online at all. We know a lot of Spider-Man fans and we have been told by Sony Pictures not to show the footage online. It will be instead debuted inside our store on the television and we are sure that visitors and guests will be able to appriciate it a lot. The experience will be fun and they will really enjoy it. "In addition to that we also plan to release a free Web-Slinger app that is the key to one of many of the promotional events that are being launched for the brand new movie."We don't plan to show off the footage in a big way online but instead plan to show it off inside our main stores which a lot of our Spider-Man fans will really like."
In addition to that the footage will not be shown online at all. Sorry Spider-Man fans but the footage that you really want to see badly is not going to ever be shown online unless if it's planned carefully. But i do have some good news and bad news for you. Now first the good news is that Wal-Mart plans to show off some brand new never before seen unseen footage that was never used or even shown in the movie. But don't worry because you will still get a chance to see it on the big television screen. And now the bad news is that you won't get to see it online. After people made rumors about it and also said that it would be shown online. Sony Pictures talked to Wal-Mart and said that the footage won't be shown online. Here is what they also had to say about it.
"We have had no plans to show off the footage and have been told by Sony Pictures not to do it at all." "All the kind requests and also sayings that we got from Spider-Man fans from all across the country saying that they want to see it is out of the question and our answer is No!" "We made the decision and a smart choice after Sony Pictures informed us and told us not to show any of the footage online after a lot of Spider-Man fans went ahead and said yes we really want to see it so badly because we really want to know what it's about." "Well since our answer was No then we can't or cannot plan to show off the footage." "We are very sorry for the inconviniance and we do not plan to show off any footage to Spider-Man fans online." "We will only do it inside our main store and we have made an agreement with Sony Pictures not to debut or show the footage online." We are really sorry for the problems that this caused to our customers.
You now finally have your answer and if that was not enough. Then you must wait to see it at a Wal-Mart store near you. Wal-Mart have said that they were told by Sony Pictures not to show off the footage to Spider-Man fans online and made a deal with them that they could not refuse. Sony Pictures and Wal-Mart are doing this not only for guests but also for promoting the movie and also for doing the promotional material in it as well. They will be showing off some brand new footage at their stores. If you live near an area or a location where there is a Wal-Mart store located near you then head to the nearest one and you will be able to catch some brand new scenes and some brand new footage. The standard times will be from about 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. So if you need to check out some brand new footage at your Wal-Mart store then please go ahead and do that because that way you will catch the screening easily. Stay tuned for more news like this.
